Open House Weekend 2017

REGIONAL OPEN HOUSE WEEKEND

Dates:  April 29 and 30, 2017

Locations:  Listed Properties in West Michigan

Sponsor:  Priority Mortgage Corp.

Did you know? NAR’s 2015 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers indicated that:

  • 48% of all buyers used an open house as a source in their home search process.
  • Repeat buyers are more likely to find their home from an open house than first-time buyers, and repeat buyers use open houses more frequently.
  • Buyers with a median income between $250,000 and $499,999 are more likely to find their home through an open house compared to those in other income brackets.
  • Buyers ages 25-44 and 45-64 were equally likely to utilize open houses in their home search at 49% – higher than those age 65+ (at 42%) and much higher than buyers between the ages of 18-24 (at 23%).
  • Buyers of new homes use open houses much more frequently than do buyers of previously owned homes.
  • 92% of buyers say open houses are at least somewhat useful.
  • Buyers whose primary language in the home is not English are more likely to visit open houses as a first step in the home buying process.

We suspect the stats aren’t that much different today! We hope you will join other REALTORS® in West Michigan by taking part in this fun, annual event.  To prepare, please stop by the GRAR REALTOR Store during the week of April 24 to pick up your FREE balloons and don’t forget to post your open houses on the MLS!  The REALTOR Store has other products to help your open house be successful too – shoe covers, guest books, signs, flags, and more!
