What is an Affiliate Member?

Affiliate members are individuals who are interested in the real estate business, but do not hold a real estate or appraisal license. Examples might include: lenders, title representatives, real estate attorneys, virtual tour providers, public utilities, course instructors, governmental entities, etc.

Below is a list of benefits offered to Affiliate Members.

Installation & Awards Breakfast

An invitation to attend this annual event (at no cost) to take part in honoring REALTOR® and Affiliate Members for special achievements. This is a great opportunity to network with other real estate professionals! Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Personal Development

Participate in the growth and development of all members through service on one of more than 20 task forces and focus groups. Long lasting business relationships are often formed at the committee/task force level.

Seminars

GRAR offers a variety of seminars concerning industry topics and trends. Members receive special discounted course rates.

Computer Access to Non-MLS Programs

Weekly notices, Marketplace, E-Mail, Statistical reports, Calendar of Events, e-forms, Mortgage Rates, County Public Tax info, Millage rates, Membership rosters, etc.

Affiliate Service Guide

A computerized listing of all Affiliate members and their area of service to the real estate industry.

Membership Roster/Mailing Labels

Members may order mailing labels and rosters for specific membership types at a special member rate.

Publications

Each member of the Association receives the monthly Grand Rapids REALTOR® covering current events and pertinent issues in the real estate industry: Advertising in the publication is available at a special member rate. Weekly mailings are e-mailed to members, which provide up-to-date industry and association information.

REALTOR® Store

A complete product line of items of interest to members with special prices for members.

Meeting Rooms

Rooms at the Association office are available for rent at special rates for members. This includes a 170-seat auditorium furnished with complete audio and video equipment; a computer training center; a Board Room for groups of 20 or less; and a room that can accommodate up to 40 people classroom-style or 60 people theater-style.

Common Lock Box System

Provides a uniform security system for properties which are subject to inspection, where access can be gained by use of a special key. *Available to affiliates who are registered with the Association as inspectors, photographers, or contractors.
